Types of Dents
Sharp Dents
Sharp dents are usually caused by impacts from sharp objects.
A strong strike from a sharp object causes the metal to be stretched outwards have a high spot with a crater. These most often occur by other passengers or drivers opening a door into yours or stones hitting your car.
Creased Dents
Creased dents happen when another object strikes your car and is then dragged along. These occur from low tree branches, bicycle handlebars dragging along the side of your car or even driving to close to a wall.
Round Dents
Round dents are caused by a large soft round object striking your vehicle. A football or a basketball hitting your car are the most common causes.
Extreme Dents
These are many times larger and irregularly shaped dents. These are caused by larger objects hitting your vehicle, hit and runs, people falling on your car or an impact from an animal.
